TClarke UK South enters new phase of growth and transformation

TClarke’s UK South region is entering a new phase of growth and transformation, following the transition to private ownership and the appointment of a refreshed leadership team.

Under the direction of Anton Malia, Managing Director for the UK South region, the business has implemented a new structure, designed to strengthen core operations, expand into emerging markets, and enhance service delivery for clients.

M&E leadership through core focus on key sectors

“TClarke is well known and has a proud history of delivering world-class mechanical and electrical building services, as well as smart technologies. As part of this, we have restructured the UK South region to have a core backbone of offices comprising Bristol, Oxford, and Peterborough.”

These offices led respectively by Justin Backwell (Bristol), Carl Murray (Oxford), and Glynn Herbert (Peterborough) will lead and deliver large-scale projects across established sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, life sciences, the Ministry of Defence (MOD), and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ).

Positioned for leadership in key growth markets

The region is also positioning itself to enter new and rapidly developing markets, such as data centres, artificial intelligence facilities, and advanced production facilities. An example of this forward-looking approach is the early project work on the Agratas Battery Factory in Bridgewater for Tata.

Strengthening and valuing our specialist divisions

Alongside its core mechanical and electrical capabilities, the UK South region also benefits from a network of highly specialised operations, broadening the scope of services available to clients:

Waldon Security – based in St Austell and led by Nigel Stephens, this specialist fire and security division provides bespoke solutions to both internal group businesses and external clients across the Southwest.

Devon & Cornwall – led by Gary Tidball, houses the Climate Solutions division, delivering air conditioning and ventilation services, alongside a small works M&E operation focused on small – and medium-scale projects.

Birmingham & Derby – managed by Kane Saunders specialises in post-completion maintenance support, reactive maintenance, and quoted small works, including services such as fabric, carpentry and joinery, ground working, landscaping, and more.

Kimbolton – Led by Phil Giddings focuses on reactive maintenance and smaller-scale M&E works with particular expertise in education frameworks. Kimbolton also serves as the centre for producing temporary boiler units for clients across the region.

Building a Stronger Future

The region draws on the full strength of TClarke, from HR, Finance, Commercial, Quality Assurance, and Health & Safety, to unrivalled technical expertise and engineering know how giving us the capability to deliver at pace and scale.

Several key projects are progressing across the UK South portfolio, including the National Rehabilitation Centre, the Saïd Business School in Oxford, and Project Apple in Bristol.

The team is also preparing to deliver major developments such as the Agratas Battery Production Facility and Devonshire Gardens in Cambridge. This strong pipeline reflects the region’s robust forward order book and growth trajectory.
