We are looking for Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to join our Newcastle Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all commercial and contractual functions, across various sectors including Healthcare, Education, Fit Out and Commercial.
Requirements
- Previous experience of multi-site operation
- Previous knowledge of contract models, eg. Cost plus, fixed price, shared savings, GMP, etc.
- Experience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and procedures.
- Computer literate including working knowledge of MS packages. Advanced knowledge of Excel, i.e. lookups, pivot tables & reporting.
- HND/degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
- QS background in the M&E Sector desirable
- A high degree of financial, commercial and customer awareness.
- Excellent numerical and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and dynamic environment.
- Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues.
- Member of RICS or other relevant professional body advantageous
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures across the contract.
- Management of the established additional works processes to identify and capture items over and above the contract’s limit of liability.
- Providing commercial insights, driving profitable growth and supporting the delivery of the organisation’s long-term goals.
- Key commercial interface across the account on all commercial issues.
- Preparation of contract variations and client finance model.
- Creation, maintenance, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk as well as leading contractual negotiations in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Providing support to the operations team with regards contractual commercial requirements, and any related commercial implications of non-performance.
