We are looking for Commercial Manager to join our Newcastle Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all commercial and contractual functions, assisting to develop and implement overall strategy, growth and profitability across various sectors including Healthcare, Education, Fit Out and Commercial.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working within a similar Commercial team.
  • Previous experience of multi-site operation
  • Previous knowledge of contract models, eg. Cost plus, fixed price, shared savings, GMP, etc.
  • Experience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and procedures.
  • Line management experience.
  • Computer literate including working knowledge of MS packages. Advanced knowledge of Excel, i.e. lookups, pivot tables & reporting.
  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience/qualification within a commercial role.
  • Accounting or QS background in the M&E Sector desirable
  • A high degree of financial, commercial and customer awareness.
  • Excellent numerical and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues.
  • Member of RICS or other relevant professional body advantageous

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Development, implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures across the contract.
  • Management of the established additional works processes to identify and capture items over and above the contract’s limit of liability.
  • Providing commercial insights, driving profitable growth and supporting the delivery of the organisation’s long-term goals.
  • Key commercial interface across the account on all commercial issues.
  • Preparation of contract variations and client finance model.
  • Creation, maintenance, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk as well as leading contractual negotiations in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Providing support to the operations team with regards contractual commercial requirements, and any related commercial implications of non-performance.
  • Line management of Quantity Surveyors and Finance Assistants.
